Mitochu Koeki is pleased to announce our exhibition entitled ‘Manga’ at the 22nd Tōbi Special Exhibition.

Manga has become one of the most recognized cultural exports of Japan. In the same way that Japan was exposed to foreign cultures through movies and music, Manga is a gateway to Japanese culture for many.

Capturing the zeitgeist of the ages, Manga plays a valuable role in development for readers.

This exhibition features a collection of original drawings, ‘Genga’, from a number of prominent Mangas.

Each panel of a story is a mere piece of a passing whole, but it is also the amalgamation of the author's inner world and struggles.

We hope that this exhibition will be an opportunity to revive the awe you felt back in the days when you immersed yourself in such stories.
