Raku Kichizaemon , born in Kyoto, has assumed the 15th headship of the Raku family since 1981. After studying sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts, he went to Italy for further study. He is known for an unprecedented innovative , avant-garde style . Raku Kichizaemon Pavilion (Sagawa Art Museum) of his design opened in 2007 won various architectural prizes, where he exhibits annually.
