Yamamura Shinya b.1960
Yamamura’s work is witty with extreme grace . A highly sophisticated but unconstrained beauty of his design is enhanced by his full mastery of classic lacquering skills such as maki-e and mother - of - pearl inlay or of some modern techniques he has introduced with his initiative. Though he generally produces small hand-sized objects such as tea caddy and covered box, the whole universe of lacquer art condensed into this microcosm gives us a fresh surprise every time we handle this lacquer gem.
