Gomi Kenji b.1978
Gomi  applies   a  c oiling  method ,  an  ancient  hand-building method  to produce pottery, that has existed since pre-historic Jōmon  and  Yayoi periods in Japan, which enables the forming of the clay pot in various parts without any obstacle of size limit. Gomi’s   clay   creation   looks   as   if   th clay form is quietly but dynamically   rising   to  its  feet  from  the  ground ,  sometimes swelling out and sometimes crawling around.  The clay material itself is the protagonist in his work.
